Essential Selection Criteria

Experience working with children in the early years.

Sound understanding of child development and the ability to recognize and provide for children’s needs.

Possess well-developed communication skills both written and oral.

Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills

Demonstrated problem solving skills

Demonstrated professional standards

Experience in planning, administration and organisational skills including demonstrated ability in the use of technology.

Demonstrated understanding of diversity and inclusive practices as they relate to families and children.

Demonstrated understanding of National Quality Framework

Essential Qualifications, Licences and Registrations

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Current Full First Aid including Asthma and Anaphylaxis
• Certificate in Safe Food Handling
• Certificate in Fire Safety
• Certificate in Mandatory Reporting
• Certificate in Manual Handling

• Working with Vulnerable People Registration for Tasmania
• National Police Check
• Referee Check

• Computer skills including use of Internet, Microsoft Office, other Apps/Programs as required
